Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an experienced consultant to support federal ICOFR assessments, audit readiness, and process improvement for federal government clients. The role involves identifying, documenting, and assessing risk and internal controls in line with OMB Circular A-123 and GAO Green Book, and advising on mitigation strategies.

You will lead risk assessments, develop control matrices, test plans, and remediation actions, collaborate with engagement teams, and contribute to business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; focus in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration preferred.
• 4+ years in accounting, internal controls, or operations; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience with ICOFR assessments, audit readiness, or government audits preferred.
• Experience with CFO Act, FMFIA, FFMIA, OMB, GAO, SOX 404 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform ICOFR assessments and internal control testing and documentation.
• Develop risk matrices, test plans, and audit findings reports.
• Lead walkthrough meetings and document risks and controls.
• Remediate audit and A-123 findings with action plans and SOPs.
• Support client strategy, planning, and engagement management.
