Job summary

The Iowa Department of Public Safety (DPS) seeks a Program Planner 3 to serve as one of two federal grants program administrators and ODCP's financial manager. This role develops, implements, administers, and evaluates department-wide federal grants programs while ensuring compliance and proper funding management.

As the Governor-appointed SAA for federal criminal justice grants, DPS secures and manages federal funds, performs FFATA reporting, and coordinates with internal and external partners

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating federal grants and managing grant programs.
• Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 and related state/federal accounting policies.
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate department-wide grant programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement all facets of the federal grant process, including planning, mining for grants, writing and editing, implementation, administration, and evaluation.
• Ensure financial integrity and programmatic efficacy while complying with laws and regulations (2 CFR Part 200, OMB cost principles, FMCSA policies).
• Facilitate annual pass-through grant application processes, reviewing, scoring, and administering sub-grants.
• Provide technical assistance and support to DPS staff, other agencies, and funded programs.
• Complete FFATA reporting.
