Job summary

Centennial Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mid-level Accountant to support a federal client, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and strong management of contracts within the federal government.

Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements per GAAP, while maintaining audit trails and complying with AICPA, FASAB, and budgetary standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting, general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and related financial processes.
• 5+ years of federal or DHS-specific financial management processes (sub-ledger, LOA, JVs, accruals, IPACs, PP&E).
• Experience analyzing internal control structures, creating corrective actions, and responding to auditors.
• Experience preparing federal financial statements including footnotes and data quality reports.
• Strong understanding of USSGL, Treasury Financial Manual transactions, and federal budgetary accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing time-sensitive financial transactions and reports, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Prepare, record, and adjust journal entries for Treasury submissions, including accruals and eliminations.
• Manage assigned areas (entity, program, or function) and report financial transactions and events.
• Conduct reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and proper financial reporting per required formats.
• Prepare annual financial statements per GAAP, including footnotes and schedules.
• Maintain audit trails from general ledger to subsidiary records and interfacing systems.
• Ensure adherence to laws and standards (AICPA, FASAB, GAAP, OMB, GAO).
