Job summary

Guidehouse in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the advisory team in federal financial management, providing technical accounting and financial reporting services for a federal client. You will conduct research and analysis of ledger accounts, interpret regulatory guidance, verify accuracy of transactions, and prepare supporting schedules and notes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD PUBLIC TRUST; candidates must obtain adjudication prior to onboarding.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; client approval may be requested for degree type outside of Accounting.
• TWO (2) years of experience in accounting, financial management, interpreting, and/or analyzing data for a CFO level organization.
• Knowledge of Federal accounting concepts and standards, Federal procurement concepts (FAR), CFO Act, GPRA, GMRA, FISMA, TFM, and OMB bulletins.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Power Point.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize work and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Support advisory team with financial management services for a federal client, including technical accounting and reporting.
• Research and analyze technical and general ledger accounting and prepare federal financial statements and notes.
• Verify accuracy and validity of transactions including USSGL accounts and fund balance with Treasury.
• Prepare and review documents for accuracy, balance subsidiary ledgers, and perform reconciliations across multiple ledgers.
