Job summary

Olsson, a federal engineering and design firm, seeks a licensed Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Engineering & Design Team. You will perform standard electrical engineering tasks, adapt designs to meet federal requirements, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, code-compliant solutions for national projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
• Solid problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, federal standards, and regulatory requirements, with ability to research and apply requirements as needed.
• Advanced mathematical and analytical abilities related to electrical engineering design.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering duties related to the evaluation, design, and documentation of electrical systems for federal projects.
• Develop constructible, code-compliant designs while evaluating and proposing minor adaptations.
• Prepare electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates per codes and standards.
• Assist with project documents and monitor scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines and internal teams for integrated outcomes.
• Communicate project progress with project managers and federal clients as needed.
• Perform design analyses and feasibility evaluations for proposed electrical systems.
• Enter and maintain project data in Olsson’s PM systems per Quality Management Program.
