Job summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a data engineer to develop new tools, code, and services for data engineering activities across varied data types and conditions. The role focuses on moving and ingesting data, formatting data for exploration, and collaborating with Data Scientists to define optimal data formats and transformations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with data modeling and at least two of the listed database technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience managing, optimizing query performance, and processing large volumes of bulk data.
• Experience with data modeling and database technologies including at least two from MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Hbase, RDS or Cassandra.

Responsibilities

• Move structured and unstructured data using approved methods.
• Ingest data for storage in local or enterprise locations.
• Develop code to format data for exploration.
• Analyze source data formats with Data Scientists to determine suitable formats and transformations.
• Develop code and tools for one-time and ongoing data extraction and transformation into data models.
• Develop and enhance ETL code using best practices.
