Job summary

KOMAN Sustainable Solutions seeks a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead construction activities on federal contracts in Del Rio, TX. You will oversee site operations, coordinate with Project Controls, and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.

Strong leadership and communication are essential. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of construction experience, at least 5 years as a superintendent on large projects, and familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience.
• At least 5 years as a superintendent on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.
• Experience on federal government contracts (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, etc.)
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and project scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop constructability models for project execution with estimating and project controls.
• Read and understand construction specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
• Lead an Integrated Project Team with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare work plans and other documentation after award.
• Plan and direct all construction activities after award.
• Obtain necessary construction permits from authorities.
• Supervise field staff and mentor crews; provide feedback.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and manage schedule updates.
• Work with PMO leads for labor and procurement needs.
• Maintain and update the construction schedule; run three-week look-ahead plans.
• Engage with Project Controls to track schedule and budgets.
• Foster a safe work environment and address safety concerns.
• Act as competent person for excavation/trenching, scaffolding, fall protection, cranes, confined spaces.
• Ensure quality and safety guidelines are followed and documentation completed.
• Oversee equipment procurement and maintenance; ensure inspections.
• Communicate project progress in weekly meetings with clients and team.
• Produce daily reports for project records.
