Job summary

City Light & Power, Inc. seeks a Superintendent EPC to lead field execution for federal government projects at Fort Riley, KS. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, enforce safety, and ensure quality work within budget and timeline.

The role requires deep experience on federal projects, strong leadership, and ability to navigate USACE procedures. Candidates must obtain OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1 within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5+) years' experience as a Superintendent on federal government projects.
  • Ten (10) years' experience with USACE or federal government construction projects or similar.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • EM 385-1-1 Training (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • USACE CQM training and certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and verbal / written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily construction activities on federal and government projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and craft personnel to ensure work per plans and contract requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Monitor production, productivity, and schedule performance; hold subs accountable.
  • Conduct daily reporting, inspections, and jobsite documentation.
  • Partner with subcontractors to navigate federal construction procedures and requirements.
  • Champion safety and ensure compliance with project and regulatory safety standards.
  • Investigate and address safety incidents, concerns, and near misses.
  • Work with Project Management to monitor labor, costs, budgets, and performance.
  • Review timecards, labor classifications, and Davis-Bacon compliance requirements.
  • Manage purchase orders and track expenditures against budgets.
  • Coach and develop field personnel; foster teamwork and accountability.
  • Resolve field challenges quickly to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll Do

As the Superintendent, you will be the field leader responsible for driving project execution from mobilization through closeout. You'll coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, oversee safety, and ensure quality work is delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy is required.

  • Salary range: $100,000-$130,000/annual based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
