Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned project manager to lead Federal construction initiatives, directing all phases from planning to closeout. The role requires coordinating contractors, on-site teams, and client stakeholders to deliver on-time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Federal programs, robust safety leadership, and strong communication skills to manage complex projects and drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent directly related experience may be considered.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in Federal construction programs.
  • U.S. citizen; ability to pass federal background checks and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and manage all phases of Federal construction projects per scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Oversee contractors and on-site staff to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with contracts.
  • Serve as primary liaison between Federal client, stakeholders, and contractors; manage communications.
  • Review documents and plans for FAR alignment and applicable codes; approve submittals and reports.
  • Lead pre-construction and progress meetings, site inspections, and punch-list development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal safety, environmental, and quality standards across sites.
  • Track performance metrics, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior staff and promote best practices in construction management.
