Job summary

Michael Page in Columbia, MD is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale federal construction projects in the DC metro area. You will work hands-on with government, secure facilities, and project teams, collaborating with senior leadership to deliver $5M+ initiatives.

This role requires 2–5 years in construction PM or engineering, experience with Procore or Primavera P6 is preferred, and onsite work in Columbia, MD/DC.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of construction project management or project engineering experience.
• Experience supporting federal, government, military, or secure facility projects preferred.
• Exposure to SCIF, mission-critical, or highly regulated construction environments is a plus.
• Experience working on projects valued at $5M or greater.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, project documentation, and coordination.
• Familiarity with Procore and/or Primavera P6 preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Columbia, MD and/or Washington, DC project locations.
• Ability to successfully complete an extensive background investigation and provide professional references.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with the planning, execution, and delivery of federal construction projects valued at $5M+.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal project teams throughout all phases of construction.
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, document control, and procurement activities.
• Help manage government, federal, and SCIF construction projects while ensuring compliance with client requirements.
• Track project progress, maintain reporting, and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
• Utilize construction management software such as Procore and/or Primavera P6 to support project execution.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and client interactions.
• Assist with change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project closeout documentation.
• Work closely with senior leadership and project executives to ensure successful project delivery.
