Job summary

Accenture Federal Services in Washington, DC area is seeking a cloud and platform engineer to design, build, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, or comparable environments. You will implement IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep and improve CI/CD workflows, deployment automation, and environment provisioning.

You will deploy containerized workloads with Docker/Kubernetes, implement observability, security controls, and reliability

Qualifications

• Professional cloud engineering or platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep).
• CI/CD, Git-based workflows, scripting, modern delivery practices.
• Docker and Kubernetes, container orchestration.
• Understanding of cloud networking, identity/access, observability, security, reliability.
• For deeper experience, ability to lead platform initiatives and set standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, or comparable environments.
• Create and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or comparable technologies.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, deployment automation, environment provisioning, and release controls.
• Deploy and operate containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, managed container platforms, or comparable technologies.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, resilience, backup/recovery, and reliability practices.
• Apply DevSecOps, identity/access, secrets management, network, configuration, patching, and security controls.
• Automate repetitive operational work via scripting and engineering tools; assist incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Use AFS-approved AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate automation and code development while validating outputs.
• Partner with product engineers, QE, Enterprise Architects, security teams, and stakeholders.
• As experience grows, lead complex platform initiatives and mentor engineers.
