Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a licensed attorney to support a federal government program involving complaint reviews, investigations, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will apply federal civil rights statutes, perform complex legal analysis, and draft well-reasoned findings, with First Amendment experience being highly desirable.

The role requires an active bar license, JD from an accredited law school, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

  • Active bar license in good standing in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Experience applying federal civil rights statutes (Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, ADA, Age Discrimination Act).
  • Strong legal writing experience: memoranda, investigative reports, case evaluations, dismissal letters, or legal recommendations.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

  • Review complaints and determine case disposition.
  • Conduct legal and factual analysis of investigations and compliance matters.
  • Research and interpret applicable federal laws, regulations, policies, and guidance.
  • Draft legal memoranda, investigative summaries, correspondence, reports, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and supporting records.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to obtain information and clarify case details.
  • Support quality assurance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of work.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with laws and policies.
