Job summary

Equiliem seeks a licensed attorney to support a federal government program involving complaint reviews, investigations, and compliance matters. The candidate will apply federal civil rights statutes and regulations, analyze complex issues, and prepare well-reasoned legal findings.

Experience with First Amendment matters is highly desirable. The role requires an active bar license, JD from an ABA-accredited school, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney with bar in good standing in any U.S. state or territory.
• Experience applying federal civil rights statutes (Title VI/Title VII/Title IX, ADA, Rehabilitation Act, Age Discrimination Act).
• Strong legal writing: memoranda, investigative reports, evaluations, recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Review complaints and supporting docs to determine disposition.
• Conduct legal and factual analysis of investigations and compliance matters.
• Research and interpret federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
• Draft memoranda, investigative summaries and reports.
• Maintain accurate case files and supporting records.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to clarify case details.
• Support quality assurance for accuracy and timely completion.
• Manage multiple assignments with deadlines.
• Handle confidential information per laws and policies.
