Responsibilities

  • Review criminal case files to determine status and identify matters ready for closeout.
  • Use databases like Case360, PACER, CourtLinks to verify case information.
  • Locate and organize related paper and electronic records.
  • Review files against checklists to determine retention or removal.
  • Ensure files are complete, accurate, and ready for final processing.
  • Organize retained documents and prepare case-closeout forms.
  • Apply records-retention schedules and transfer records to appropriate sections.
  • Maintain tracking lists for file status, location, and retrieval.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and support staff to confirm case-file information.
  • Handle confidential records and follow DoJ procedures.
