Environment America is hiring a Federal Campaigns Associate to work on our federal campaigns to protect the natural world in Washington, DC.

The Federal Campaigns Associate will work with our federal legislative team on campaigns such as saving the bees, defending public lands, and more. This entry-level role requires good judgment, discretion, and the ability to oversee significant projects and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Ideal candidates will have strong writing and public speaking skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work evenings/weekends.
• Experience organizing campus or community groups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build coalitions across organizations and constituencies to support campaign goals.
• Earn traditional and social media attention; organize news conferences and opinion pieces.
• Organize webinars, community events and public meetings; recruit organizations and members to attend.
• Lobby federal decision makers and help coordinate lobby day events with students and staff.
• Educate and mobilize the public through online and in-person outreach.
• Research and write reports to inform policy proposals and public debate.
• Recruit volunteers, interns and staff to grow the team.
• Run a grassroots campaign office each summer and meet fundraising goals.
• Participate in organizational projects and trainings across priority campaigns.
