Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience
• Knowledge of computer-based programs for tracking and analyzing financial information
• Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Federal, Departmental and Bureau budgetary principles, concepts, regulations, practices and procedures

Responsibilities

• Assist government manager with financial planning, budget preparation, and responses to legislative direction
• Support full life cycle of financial program management (budget development and execution)
• Provide budget estimates and analysis for proposed activities
• Review budget issues and propose resolutions
• Assess funding availability with Program Officers and keep budgets within planned funds
• Forecast funding actions based on budget cycle and communicate with stakeholders
• Draft financial summaries, briefing books, and other documents for executives
• Draft and track internal funding documents in the Bureau's financial system
• Review and edit press guidance and related documents
• Compile and review financial reporting for audiences including OIG, GAO, UNFTS, OMB
• Develop usable financial reports and templates using MS Excel and SharePoint
• Review new policies and recommend changes to procedures
• Directly supervise 2 or more employees
