Job summary

The United States Attorneys' Offices is looking for Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSA) in the Criminal Division for Sacramento, Fresno, and Bakersfield. Responsibilities include handling various criminal cases and operating across designated office areas.

Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be members of the bar, and reside within 25 miles of the district. Strong analytical and communication skills are required, and knowledge of legal research is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: J.D. degree and active membership in good standing of the bar.
• Must reside in the district or within 25 miles.
• Satisfactory pre-employment adjudication required.
• Selective Service registration must be satisfied for male applicants born after December 31, 1959.

Responsibilities

• Assist in handling a variety of criminal cases.
• Operate in one or more unit areas: Sacramento, Fresno, or Bakersfield Offices.
• Demonstrate flexibility as assignments evolve.
