Job summary

The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California is seeking experienced attorneys to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division. You will represent the United States and federal agencies in a variety of cases, including employment, tort, constitutional and civil rights, FOIA, APA, False Claims Act, and financial litigation.

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, be actively admitted to the bar, and possess at least three years of licensed attorney

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum three years of practicing litigation at federal, state, or local courts.

Responsibilities

• Represent the United States in civil litigation within the Northern District of California.
• Prepare, participate in, and argue hearings or trials, and review formal filings.
• Advise agencies and coordinate with federal partners on civil actions.
• Uphold professional ethics and maintain high standards of legal writing.
