Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) invites qualified individuals to become Federal Air Marshals. Duties include protecting passenger flights, operating discreetly on board, and leading enforcement actions when needed. Required are discretion, sound judgment, physical readiness, and the ability to work independently in high‑pressure environments.

You must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for Top Secret clearance, and meet medical, drug, and background requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national and eligible for a Top Secret clearance.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor's degree with qualifying experience.
• Ability to pass drug screening, medical evaluation, polygraph, and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorism, piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry firearms and maintain required firearms proficiency.
• Conduct investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
• Interview witnesses or suspects and make arrests within authority.
• Engage in multi‑agency operations and counterterrorism missions.
• Support ground security and related missions.
