Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from threats. Marshals may be assigned to domestic and international flights and must meet stringent training and fitness standards.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, at least 21, and able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. They must pass a background check, drug screening, medical evaluation and a polygraph as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor’s degree or higher, or a qualifying combination of education and experience.
• U.S. citizen or U.S. national; at least 21; able to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Must pass background, drug screening, medical evaluation, and polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorism and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry firearms and maintain required proficiency for federal duties.
