Job summary

National Geographic is seeking a seasoned Features Editor to lead editorial projects across digital and print platforms. The role spans assigning big profiles, smart packages, and dynamic graphics, with an emphasis on clear storytelling and diverse voices.

You will manage workflows, develop writer relationships, and report to the Senior Manager, Features, handling contracts, scheduling, and production tasks as needed. A strong journalism background is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of editing experience with increasing editorial responsibility at a media organization.
• Outstanding editorial judgement and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent writing and verbal communications, with strong brand knowledge.
• Ability to own concept and content and manage creative relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple projects on deadline, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, with independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage development, commissioning and editing of stories and packages.
• Develop new franchises and innovative coverage for National Geographic.
• Nurture relationships with writers and industry professionals, especially diverse voices.
• Report to Senior Manager, Features on project development, contracts, scheduling and production tasks.
