Job summary

Nationwide Insurance seeks a Feature Engineer Intern to join the Enterprise Analytics Office in Columbus, Ohio from May to August 2027. You will collaborate with data scientists to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that support ML models and analytics, transforming raw data into reliable datasets for analysis.

Candidates should be pursuing a graduate degree in CS/IT/eng or related fields, with knowledge of Linux/Unix commands, SQL, and Python or R.

Qualifications

Pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Technology, or related fields.
Knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and basic tooling.
Experience with or interest in ETL/ELT development and data pipelines.
Proficiency in SQL and one of Python or R.
Familiarity with data governance principles and ML concepts.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with data scientists to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for machine learning models and analytics.
Transform raw data into reliable, well-documented datasets optimized for analysis and modeling.
Prepare detailed specifications and flowcharts for development and implementation of complex applications.
