Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Feather Cooker Operator to safely operate the feather hydrolyzer and related rendering equipment, ensuring high-quality output that meets food safety plans and production requirements.

The role requires following safety guidelines, recording information according to CGMPs, and inspecting equipment daily to uphold safety and performance standards. You will monitor material flow, liaise with management on issues, and perform housekeeping as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have an understanding of the fundamental principles of manufacturing.
• Must possess effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the feather hydrolyzer and rendering equipment safely and efficiently to meet quality and production standards.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions or food safety hazards.
• Record information according to the Food Safety Plan and CGMPs.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure safe operation, food safety, and performance specs.
• Communicate any safety, food safety, or production issues to management.
• Monitor raw material bins, flow paths, and finished storage for food safety and efficiency.
• Monitor all mechanical systems and report issues; react accordingly.
• Perform housekeeping duties in assigned areas; assist maintenance when needed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Position at Pilgrim’s

The Feather Cooker Operator is responsible for, safely and efficiently, operating the properties’ feather hydrolyzer and associated rendering equipment to produce a high quality finished product that will meet all food safety plan and production requirements.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Must follow all established safety guidelines of the company and identify conditions that may cause an unsafe condition or a food safety hazard.
• Record all information according by to the Food Safety Plan and CGMPs
• Responsible for daily inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation, food safety and performance specifications.
• Employee is responsible for communicating any issue with safety, food safety plan or any production limitations with the management team.
• Feather operator will monitor raw material bins, flow ways and all finished storage bins, to ensure proper food safety and production efficiency.
• Must monitor all mechanical systems to report any safety, food safety plan or mechanical issues, and be able to react accordingly.
• Performs all necessary housekeeping duties in assigned areas
• May have to assist maintenance
• Any other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of 50lbs. The employee is often required to stand, sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
