Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Structural Simulation Engineer in Marshalltown, IA to apply FEA technologies to loads on structures and support Fisher Controls Business Units. The role focuses on performing analyses, improving simulation workflows, and developing new capabilities with a global team.

You will work with Python basics, CAD tools, Linux, and AI concepts while ensuring compliance with internal standards and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or related field.
• Working knowledge of fundamentals of structural mechanics.
• Entry level knowledge of Python.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform, interpret and report analyses within SBP.
• Support senior engineers in developing new simulation capabilities.
• Identify and implement improvements to simulation workflows.
• Liaise with design groups and follow projects.
• Review others’ work for proper model setup and properties.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Evaluate products for pressure boundary design per ASME and internal standards.
• Assess designs for fatigue, vibration, and thermal effects.
