Job summary

Tallahassee State College invites applications for an FDOT Instructor role at the Florida Public Safety Institute. The instructor will teach FDOT courses such as Traffic Homicide, Speed Measurement, Breath Test Operator, and Agency Inspector courses on campus.

The ideal candidate holds current FDLE instructor certifications and demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills to support student success and growth within a dynamic college environment.

Qualifications

• FDLE instructor certifications are required to qualify.
• Solid knowledge of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach FDOT courses and engage students effectively.

Responsibilities

• Teach FDOT courses including Traffic Homicide, Speed Measurement, Breath Test Operator, and Agency Inspector courses.
• Prepare lesson plans, deliver instruction, and assess student performance.
• Maintain required instructor certifications and compliance.
• Contribute to student success and a dynamic campus learning environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Instructors MUST have their Current FDLE General Instructor Certification, Speed Measurement Instructor, or Breath Test Instructor Certifications.
• Knowledge of the following: State of Florida Criminal Justices Standards and Training rules and regulations.
• The selected individual must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; sound judgement; problem solving skills; and possess positive motivational skills. FDLE Instructor Exemptions may be made on a case by case basis if you qualify. Work Schedule: Hours may vary
