We are seeking an FDOT Field Technician responsible for testing concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials. The ideal candidate is reliable, trustworthy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment that values collaboration and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all testing equipment is functioning properly, maintained, and calibrated within its cycle.
• Meet project testing requirements in accordance with specifications, policies, and procedures.
• Drive to job sites and conduct testing of soil, concrete, and other materials.
• Return samples to the office for testing and report data accurately and timely.
• Operate testing equipment and maintain company vehicles.
• Communicate with dispatch and supervisors, and prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection software.
• Travel within Florida as needed and support changing schedules, including overnight and weekends.
• Follow safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks per Florida law.
• ACI Level I Certification, Earthworks Construction Inspection Level I and II, CTQP Level I Certification.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, including email and data input software.
• Mathematical skills and reasoning ability to interpret instructions and carry out tasks.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role is primarily outdoors, involving travel on foot through various terrains, exposure to environmental elements, and physical activities such as lifting up to 75 lbs., standing, walking, and operating equipment.
