Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the procurement team’s duties and tasks related to department functions.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the buying of supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
  • Establish goals, objectives, and performance standards for purchasing.
  • Establish, implement, evaluate, and modify purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and apply policies, laws, and regulations pertaining to procurement.
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding purchase requirements, prices, trade and cash discounts, deliveries, current product development, and submission of bids.
  • Review bids, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate documentation and records.

Procurement Manager

Summary

The position of Procurement Manageris responsible fortheprocurementprograms and procedures for the project, under the direction and supervision of the Project Controls Manager.

Responsibilities

  • According to the instructions received from the Project Controls Manager and under his supervision:
  • Manage and direct the procurement team’s duties and tasks related to department functions.
  • Plan, organize, and directthe work of the buying of supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
  • Establishgoals,objectives, and performance standards forpurchasing.
  • Establish, implement, evaluate, andmodifypurchasing policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and applypolicies, laws, and regulationspertainingtoprocurement.
  • Analyze performance and workload data, propose changes to the Project Controls Manager,and develop and implement procedural changes, new methods, or automated systems asappropriateagreedwith the Project Controls Manager,in order toincrease efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing.
  • Determinepurchasingneeds, legal requirements, and product specifications, and to share information about cost and availability, vendor qualifications, and current technology.
  • Develop standardized specifications for the purchasing of commodities used by several departments.
  • Review bids, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensuremaintenanceofappropriate documentationand records.
  • Researchmarket conditions and new products.
  • Negotiate with vendorsregardingpurchase requirements, prices, trade and cash discounts, deliveries, current product development, and submission of bids.
  • Report Directly to the Project Controls Manager.

MinimumRequirements

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineeringor related field.
  • Minimum offive(5) years of experience of progressive responsibility in similar positions.
  • Experience performing contract administration functions for heavy civil construction projects.
