Qualifications

• Newly hired employees holding a Master's Degree in Social Work may qualify for an increase at the point of hire.

Responsibilities

• Responds quickly in crisis situations and provides time-limited in-home services to meet families' needs.
• Assesses child safety and takes necessary actions to protect the child, including removal when appropriate.
• Interacts objectively with caregivers who have harmed children and discusses related financial and personal issues.
• Helps identify resources and community support available to the family and develop treatment plans.
• Assists parents to recognize behaviors that lead to child abuse or neglect and promotes behavioral change.
• Determines actions to remove or reduce immediate threats to a child's safety and may testify in court.
