The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Amarillo is seeking a CPS FBSS Supervisor I/II to lead a busy unit responsible for child safety assessments and permanency decisions. You will oversee staff, interpret policy, and ensure timely transfers and documentation in line with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 60 credit hours with CPS-related experience as specified in the posting.
• 3+ years of full-time experience in Child Protective Services (CPS) or related field for Supervisor I qualification.
• Completion of Phase I certification for Supervisor II eligibility where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage unit operations to meet service delivery goals.
• Supervise staff through field visits, performance data reviews, and training.
• Interpret program policies to staff, families, courts, and stakeholders.
• Ensure cases are transferred per policy and documents are complete.
• Develop relationships with community resources and agencies for client safety.
• Make casework decisions regarding removal/placement of children with legal partners.
• Attend to additional duties to maintain unit operations.
• Promote respect for cultural diversity.
• Maintain regular attendance.
