Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking a FAT Technician I to perform shop inspections and testing of TAS equipment prior to shipment, interfacing closely with operations, project engineers and project managers. This role emphasizes accurate financial oversight for projects, including cost tracking, revenue recognition support, and adherence to internal controls.

The incumbent will contribute to month-end activities, analyze contract terms, and help mitigate financial risk while guiding process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience.
• Demonstrated self-confidence and a customer mindset.
• Strong process skills and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of project financial performance from project set-up through close-out.
• Serve as the primary financial point of contact providing proactive oversight into project performance, risks and opportunities.
• Perform advanced POC revenue recognition, cost-to-complete analysis, and forecast accuracy.
• Audit job cost control, margin analysis and risk identification to ensure continuous and accurate reporting of jobs in progress.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Cross-functional collaboration with project management, operations, engineering, and service.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to project accounting staff for process improvement and best practices.
• Lead and support continuous improvement of project accounting processes and reporting.
