Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Maple Grove, MN seeks an Engineering Inside Sales Tech to provide engineering print and documentation support to the sourcing and purchasing team.

You will coordinate with OEMs for reverse engineering projects and ensure part capability and alignment with customer requirements. Responsibilities include reviewing customer prints, reconciling differences with suppliers, and supporting part reviews with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum five years of experience in design or application engineering or technical experience with production fasteners and OEM items.
• Knowledge of fasteners and bolted joint design.
• Maintains confidentiality related to vendor and customer information.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems promptly.
• Documentation and communication of process improvements.
• Ability to travel up to 20% across North America.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering print and documentation support to sourcing and purchasing teams.
• Coordinate reverse engineering projects with customers and OEMs when needed.
• Work with OEM functionals to confirm part capability and communicate differences.
• Review customer parts to print, ensure alignment with engineering docs and samples.
• Reconcile design prints with supplier capabilities and obtain approvals.
• Participate in part review meetings with sourcing, purchasing, and QC.
• Collaborate with quality department on print readiness and reviews.
• Support MSC culture and participate in special projects as required.
