Job summary

MTS Systems Corporation in Eden Prairie, MN, seeks an Aftermarket Technical Engineer to support the Service Division. You will manage engineering records for service tooling, create BOMs, support ECNs, and coordinate field and customer needs with Engineering, Metrology, Sourcing, Operations, and Field Service.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency, BOM/ECN management, technical drawing skills, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD systems, including modeling, drawing creation, and assemblies.
• Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering records for Service tooling assets including BOMs and ECNs.
• Create part numbers for new parts and kits.
• Order parts and kits for equipment without existing numbers.
• Design or update equipment cases and BOM updates.
• Coordinate spare parts ordering with Metrology Lab SMEs.
• Develop specifications and drawings using MTS standards.
• Provide documentation for projects using CAD systems.
• Verify work by checking dimensions, BOMs, materials, and processing information.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Metrology, Sourcing/Planning, Operations, and Field Service.
• Support tooling requirements, repairs, and validation materials with Tech Services and FSE trainers.
