Job summary

Carlock Volkswagen of North Nashville is seeking an Express Service Technician to inspect and lubricate vehicles quickly and thoroughly in a fast-paced service environment. You will start by handling inspections, lubrication, and basic maintenance tasks to keep service flow smooth.

This role requires performing multipoint inspections, communicating repair needs to service advisors, and servicing components like steering joints, fluids, and filters, while following safety standards and dealership

Qualifications

• Must read and comprehend written instructions.
• Experience in automotive repair/maintenance is preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license required and ability to work with manual transmissions.
• Prior experience as a technician's helper or apprentice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform multipoint inspections.
• Communicate additional service/repair needs to service advisors.
• Service universal joints, grease fittings, and steering knuckles using grease guns.
• Inspect fluid levels in steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions, diffs, and axles.
• Check tire pressure and lubricate moving parts.
• Drain oil and refill with required amount.
• Add water to radiator and battery.
• Replace oil and air filters.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs.
• Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and codes of conduct.
• Follow dealership safety procedures to avoid exposure to fumes and chemicals.
