Job summary

iStaff in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant to manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance and filings in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare and file monthly/quarterly returns, process remittances, respond to tax authority notices, and assist with tax research and new software implementations. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 1–3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Advanced Excel proficiency required; hands-on experience with standard tax compliance software preferred.
• 1–3 years of progressive multi-state sales tax experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file high-volume monthly and quarterly multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Process sales tax payments and maintain regular reconciliations of sales tax accounts to the general ledger.
• Respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities and assist with sales tax audits.
• Assist with internal sales tax research and address compliance questions.
• Support new tax software implementations and assist with ad-hoc tax projects and duties as needed.
