Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works in Normal, IL is seeking friendly and outgoing associates to join our fast-paced restaurant team. You’ll deliver quick, warm service, build a great guest experience, and help maintain clean, inviting spaces.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen; knife skills a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk for at least 3 hours; lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and ice cream efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use the automatic slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and handle cash procedures.
• Handle customer complaints/issues.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
