Job summary

First United Bank is seeking an Insurance Small Business Sales Associate to generate new commercial insurance business through qualified leads and referrals. You will evaluate client needs, tailor solutions, prepare quotes, and close deals, collaborating with internal banking partners to deliver a seamless experience.

The role rewards momentum and proactive prospecting, with responsibilities covering the full quoting process, carrier evaluation, and post-sale transitions to servicing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• 5+ years’ experience in insurance sales or related role.
• Active P&C producers license required.
• Experience quoting commercial lines business required.
• Experience with Applied Epic a plus.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple prospects.

Responsibilities

• Manage a continuous pipeline of inbound leads and referrals.
• Promptly contact prospective clients to assess insurance needs.
• Conduct needs assessments and provide consultative recommendations.
• Prepare, analyze, and present commercial insurance quotes.
• Evaluate carrier options and recommend coverage solutions.
• Negotiate, close, and bind new commercial policies.
• Coordinate transition of new accounts to servicing team.
• Develop relationships with internal banking partners and referral sources.
• Provide timely updates to referral partners throughout the sales process.
• Maintain records of prospects, clients, and sales in Salesforce and Applied Epic.
• Monitor activity, pipeline progression, and production goals.
• Stay informed on products, carriers, underwriting guidelines, and trends.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
