Job summary

Lowe's is hiring a cashier to provide a quick, friendly checkout experience and help customers get the best value for their money while shopping in store. You will engage with customers at the register, scan items, bag purchases, and resolve simple questions to ensure a positive store visit.

Most of your time will be at the register, but you may assist other departments, stock shelves, or help move carts as needed.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic ability.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
• Experience using a computer for input/output of information.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
• Sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self-checkout area.
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
• Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.
• Answer customer questions.
• Help maintain a clean, safe workstation.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
