Summary:

The Fast Food Attendant is responsible for performing various duties within a fast food/snack bar establishment, including completing customer transactions, cleaning food or stock areas, assisting in the kitchen, and maintaining inventory. Performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business or management. This is a non-exempt position.

Essential Functions:

1. Greet customers, take food orders, provide menu information, and look for opportunities to upsell products.
2. Operate cash register, handle payments in cash or credit, accurately give change, and follow HMS Host customer service and cash handling policies.
3. Clean and stock work areas.
4. Assist in locating, reconciling, and verifying transactions; operate equipment with electronic data processing; transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
5. Assist with various kitchen-related functions as needed.
6. Receive inventory, move and lift food, beverages, and supplies; maintain knowledge of products and services.
7. Follow proper food handling procedures, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and temperature checking.
8. Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform job functions.
• Ability to lift/push objects over 40 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions, policies, and communicate comfortably with customers.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
