Job summary

Marbeliz is seeking a creative, highly organized Fashion Designer & Operations Assistant in a hybrid role. You will contribute to design development (with a focus on women's dresses) and support day-to-day operations, including inventory and platform management across NuOrder, Apparel Magic, and Shopify.

Ideal candidates have fashion design experience, strong sketches/tech pack skills, and a passion for coordinating between design and operations to drive the brand forward.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a creative and highly organized Fashion Designer & Operations Assistant. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with a fashion design background who wants to contribute to design while also supporting the operational systems that keep the business running smoothly.

Role Overview

In this dual-focused role, you will support both the creative design process and the day-to-day operations of the business. On the design side, you will help develop new styles (with a focus on women's dresses), create sketches and tech packs, and collaborate on product development. On the operations side, you will work closely with the Operations Manager to manage inventory, orders, and key platforms that power our wholesale and direct-to-consumer business.

A major focus of this role is learning and mastering our core operational platforms while applying your design skills:

• NuOrder – Wholesale order management and B2B sales operations
• Apparel Magic – ERP, inventory management, purchasing, and production tracking
• Shopify – Direct-to-consumer e-commerce operations and order fulfillment

Key Responsibilities

Design & Creative Development

• Assist in creating new fashion designs based on market trends and customer preferences, with a focus on Western dresses
• Develop sketches, drawings, and design concepts
• Create and maintain detailed tech packs
• Collaborate with patternmakers and production teams to bring designs to life
• Help select fabrics, trims, and colors for new styles
• Support fittings and ensure designs meet quality standards and production deadlines
• Conduct basic market and trend research to support seasonal collections

Systems & Platform Management

• Become highly proficient in NuOrder, Apparel Magic, and Shopify
• Manage and maintain accurate product, inventory, order, and customer data across all platforms
• Support daily wholesale order processing through NuOrder
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and reporting through Apparel Magic
• Support e-commerce operations, product updates, and order management through Shopify
• Troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities to improve workflows
• Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation across all sales channels
• Support order processing for wholesale and direct-to-consumer customers
• Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and fulfillment partners
• Track production schedules, purchase orders, and shipment timelines
• Help ensure order accuracy and on-time fulfillment
• Partner with sales, design, marketing, and customer service teams
• Support the Operations Manager with daily administrative and operational tasks
• Maintain organized records, reports, and design documentation
• Assist with special projects and company initiatives as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Fashion design background or related experience preferred
• Strong creative eye with attention to detail, proportion, and trends
• Ability to create sketches and tech packs (proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software and systems quickly
• Interest in both design and the operational side of fashion
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Shopify, NuOrder, Apparel Magic, or similar systems is a plus but not required
• Passion for women’s fashion and growing brands is a major advantage
