Job summary

H2ajobs seeks workers to operate tractors and self-propelled machinery to harvest grain, oilseed, beans and potatoes. You will adjust controls and may participate in grading, sorting, storage and post-harvest treatment.

This role includes maintaining farm vehicles and buildings, loading crops into trucks, and working in challenging conditions. English proficiency is required; housing and meals are provided by the employer, with transportation once a week to grocery stores when meals/kitchen

Job description

Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to harvest grain, oilseed, bean and potato crops; Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of grain and potatoes; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment as well as farm buildings, fences, and other structure; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or under filling and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping by removing snow; Tilling soil in preparation for planting; Pick rocks, transport equipment as needed. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, humidity, wind, cold. Lift and carry supplies. Follow instructions. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record to be able to operate company vehicle. Lift up to 50 lbs.
