Job summary

H2ajobs in Texas seeks farm laborers to plant, hoe, weed and harvest grain, and perform related activities on field crops. Workers will also clean, load and unload bins and trucks, till soil, and apply fertilizers.

Tasks include transplanting, thinning, pruning, cultivating and harvesting crops, plus handling pesticides and basic equipment. Housing and meals are provided by the employer, with cooking facilities available and weekly transportation to stores for groceries.

• Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, pruners, shears and knives.
• May construct/repair trellises, fences and farm buildings.

Job description

Workers will manually plant, hoe, weed and harvest grain. Clean, spray load/unload bins and trucks; till soil and apply fertilizers; transplant, weed, thin, prune, cultivate, and harvest field crops; apply pesticides; clean, pack and load harvested products, post harvest clean up, may construct and/or repair trellises, repair fences and farm buildings, and other related activities. Workers will also use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, prune hooks, shears, and knives.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: The employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals, this includes basic appliances, pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls and dish washing facilities for meal preparation etc. The employer will also provide (on a regular weekly basis and at no cost) transportation, to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

Transport: The employer offers prearranged chartered or commercial bus, van, or plane whichever is the most economical and reasonable means for the distance involved for the inbound and outbound workers travel. Refer to Addendum C for continuation.

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may request additional work hours based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.
