A local sports organization is seeking a Head Coach to guide athletes in skill development and personal growth. The coach will create a Purpose Statement, instruct in strategy and physical training, and promote values such as self-discipline and pride. Preferred qualifications include Minnesota certification and previous coaching experience. This is a part-time position located in Farmington, MN, with a nominal stipend offered based on the coaching duties performed.

Qualifications

• Prefer Minnesota teaching and coaching certification.
• Prefer employment as a teacher in the Farmington School District.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport.

Job Summary

Head Coaches must also instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success. Also provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of acceptable values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.

Nominal Stipend

Tiger Athletic, Arts, and Activities (TAAA) matrix, Column A. The stipend amount is considered a “nominal stipend”. The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team’s level of success. If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program. Any service provided during this two week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro‑rated basis. In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be pro‑rated.
