H2ajobs is seeking workers to assist in a poultry farm environment in Vance, SC. The role involves collecting eggs, operating washing and packing equipment, weighing eggs, and tending to seasonal flocks of turkeys and broilers. Candidates must be able to lift 30 lbs, work in varying weather, and be reliable and punctual.

Typical hours run 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with seasonal adjustments. Housing, meals, and transport arrangements are provided by the employer for eligible workers.

Job description

Primary Job Duties:

1. Gathering eggs from the conveyor belts inside our nine mobile chicken shelters
2. Washing, weighing, and packing eggs. This includes operating the Egg Processing Machine (washes/weighs/packs eggs), the Egg Grader (weighs eggs), and washing any heavily soiled eggs by hand.
3. Tending to our large/seasonal Turkey and Broiler Chicken flocks.

Secondary Job Duties:

The ideal candidate would ALSO be capable of performing other work such as raising/herding sheep, feeding chickens/turkeys, cutting grass, setting up poultry netting, pick up dairy with the farm's refrigerated van, moving poultry/shelters to fresh grass, & cleaning egg nesting boxes.

Temporary/Seasonal Need:

Our need for an additional worker is temporary and seasonal due to the cyclical nature of broiler chicken (Spring &

Fall), turkey (July-January), and egg production (Year-round, but with seasonal increases in the Spring & Fall). Labor

demands increase during periods of peak poultry & egg production, with related increases in flock sizes. All of the

aforementioned are affected by both seasonal conditions and market demand. The duties outlined above cannot be

performed continuously year-round at the same staffing level. Additional staffing is required only for the duration of the stated contract period.

• Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)
• Meals: Employer will provide free and convenient facilities at the housing site, including stove, refrigerator, running water, and cooking utensils.
• Transport: a) The employer will arrange and pay in advance for the worker's transportation and subsistence costs from the worker's place of recruitment (or country of origin) to the place of employment in Vance, SC.
• Transport: b) Upon completion of the employment contract, or early termination without cause, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's return transportation and subsistence costs from the worksite back to the worker's place of recruitment or home country.

Experience wanted: 12 months

Though most work is performed under cover, applicants MUST be willing to work in all weather conditions. Applicants MUST also be able to lift at least 30 lbs (A full crate of eggs). Finally, applicants MUST be reliable. Inability to show up for work on the scheduled date/time is unacceptable, as it places an enormous burden on the rest of our small farm team. Hours are typically between 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, but can vary with the seasons and/or to accommodate farm workers' schedules. Additional hours are always available to anyone who's willing to help and eager to learn.
