Job summary

STgenetics seeks an organized, optimistic FarmFit R&D Intern to join our Research & Development team. This internship offers hands-on experience in animal behavior research, data collection, sensor technology, and data analysis within the livestock industry.

Work closely with the FarmFit R&D team to support projects developing innovative technologies that help producers achieve genetic and reproductive goals.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort around cattle and farm environments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interest in animal science, data science, and sensor technologies.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, and document animal behaviors in person and via video.
• Assist with installation and management of animal monitoring technologies.
• Retrieve sensor data and upload into CSV files and databases.
• Review and align observed behaviors with sensor data (e.g., estrus, calving).
• Collect research data and assist with experiments in controlled labs.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data quality throughout projects.
• Support ongoing research initiatives and technology development efforts.
• Assist with additional research and development projects as assigned.
