Ecology Center in Berkeley is seeking a Farmers Market Program Associate-Part Time to support the Berkeley farmers markets, including cash handling, token distribution, vendor coordination, and attendant duties. This is an onsite, union position with a fixed schedule.

It involves market setup and breakdown, customer service, data entry, and general office tasks, with regular hours on Tuesdays 2:00–7:30 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am–3:30 pm, totaling 11 hours weekly.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
Ability to manage on-site operations at farmers markets.
Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets; willingness to learn new apps.

Responsibilities

Assist in operating Ecology Center programs including Farmers' Markets and related activities.
Support market setup and breakdown, vendor parking, signage, token distribution, and information booth staffing.
Provide excellent customer service and merchandise sales at markets.
Perform post-market duties including cleaning and replacing equipment.
Handle cash and deposits following established procedures; prepare change and tokens.
Track market activity using logbooks and receipts.
