Job summary

ESCUELA VIEJA LLC in Texas is seeking a Baking and Pastry Production Cook to join our farm-to-table kitchen. You will open the production kitchen, prepare breads, churros, ice creams, cakes, and other sweet components, and help the team deliver memorable experiences to guests.

The ideal candidate has baking/pastry experience, strong organizational skills, and a drive to excel in a team-driven environment. This role requires early morning shifts and physical stamina for standing and lifting up to

Qualifications

• Experience in baking/pastry and similar roles.
• Ability to use professional-grade kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Advanced knowledge of baking and pastry techniques and recipes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Available for early morning shifts.
• Open to feedback and using it as a tool.
• Able to meet physical demands including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Texas Food Handlers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of desserts and sweets for plated desserts, cakes, pies, cookies, and pastries.
• Bake a variety of breads.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and baking areas.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Track, maintain, and assist with inventory as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the chef team.
