Job summary

Miraval Austin Resort and Spa is seeking a Part Time Farm Specialist to lead wellness programming at Cypress Creek Farm and provide guest consultations on lifestyle choices. You will develop curricula, facilitate classes, and collaborate with resort teams to enhance guest experience.

The role emphasizes empathy, mindful communication, and the ability to respond to diverse guest needs while coordinating with a dynamic wellness team in an upscale resort setting in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in integrative health and wellness programs, preferably spa/resort.
• Minimum 2 years in independent practice and/or facilitating groups.
• Polished, professional presentation and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, workshops, and classes on wellness topics for guests.
• Provide one-on-one consultations on lifestyle issues.
• Maintain materials for programs and develop new curricula based on research and trends.
• Participate in department and resort meetings; manage class schedules and attendance.
• Support initiatives across departments and ensure guest needs are met empathetically.
• Communicate proactively with team and adapt to varied guest requests.
• Operate a vehicle and have a valid driver’s license as needed.
• Be available to work weekends and holidays; Austin, TX residency required.

Essential Functions:

• Provide a variety of lectures, workshops and classes for Miraval guests relating to Animal Connection, Agriculture, Nature Connections, wellness/meditations, or any other specialized programming relating to our Cypress Creek Farm.
• Provide one‑on‑one guest consultations on lifestyle issues
• Maintain materials used in the facilitation of these programs
• Develop new curriculum, as well as manage changes and improvements to existing programs based on current research, utilization and trends
• Participate in area and department meetings
• Keep balance of private availability with class schedule
• Manage attendance numbers for facilitated classes
• Collaborate to support department and resort initiatives
• Must be able to respond to a wide variety of individual guest needs in the areas of lifestyle management:
  • be familiar with health and wellness issues and be able to respond appropriately
  • be familiar with community, national and international resources for a variety of guest needs
  • be able to relate empathically and helpfully to individual guests
  • be able to meaningfully facilitate groups and workshops

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in integrative health and wellness focused programs, preferably in a spa or resort settings

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in independent practice and/or facilitating groups

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents

Ability to respond effectively and empathically to sensitive guest issues and complaints

Ability to write reports, lectures and articles

Ability to create and give clear, concise presentations

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
