Job summary

CSS Farms in Texas is seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee daily farm shop operations, ensure equipment is maintained to standards, and bridge high-level strategy with hands-on maintenance. This leadership role requires mentoring shop workers, coordinating repairs for tractors, trucks, and irrigation equipment, and driving safety through PPE and regular safety meetings.

The position demands 5+ years in equipment maintenance and leadership, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of farm equipment maintenance experience, incl. 1–2 years in a lead role.
• Diesel mechanics, hydraulics, irrigation systems expertise.
• Proven leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred for a diverse workforce.
• Proficient with fleet management software and precision ag platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and train Shop Workers; coordinate daily assignments to maximize uptime for tractors, trucks, and irrigation equipment.
• Prioritize repair orders and preventative maintenance, especially during planting/harvest seasons.
• Inspect repairs and logs to meet manufacturer specs and safety standards.
• Procure parts, tools and supplies; manage shop budget and vendor relations.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex issues including GPS/precision ag tech integrations.
• Enforce PPE use and safety; conduct safety meetings and shop inspections.
• Oversee record-keeping of equipment service histories.
