Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a dependable Farm & Ranch Assistant for a diversified Nebraska producer, offering long-term stability and growth opportunities. The role blends crop production with cow/calf work, requiring initiative and the ability to work independently when the employer is unavailable.

The operation covers about 1,800 irrigated acres and a 400-head cow/calf herd. Candidates should have a solid background in row-crop farming and cattle handling, with experience operating John

Qualifications

• Solid background in production row-crop farming and cow/calf operations.
• Experience operating larger farm equipment.
• Planting and harvest experience strongly preferred.
• Irrigation experience is a plus.
• Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Strong cattle-handling skills and a good understanding of cow/calf production.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working without constant supervision.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a small team.
• Responsible, trustworthy, and willing to take ownership of the position.
• Must be interested in a stable, long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of corn and soybean production, from field preparation and planting through harvest.
• Operate modern farm equipment, including John Deere and Case equipment and Kinze planters.
• Assist with irrigation throughout the growing season.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, servicing, and general repairs.
• Assist with all aspects of the 400-head cow/calf operation, including feeding, calving, herd health, processing, and general cattle care.
• Maintain fences, facilities, equipment, and other areas of the farm and ranch.
• Help prioritize daily work and handle responsibilities independently when the employer is unavailable.
• Work wherever needed to keep both the farming and livestock operations running efficiently.
