Job summary

Vital Farms is seeking a knowledgeable Farm Operations Manager to oversee daily operations of company-owned farms, leading teams and ensuring welfare, safety, and production outcomes. You will collaborate with maintenance, compliance, veterinary, and nutrition teams to drive improvements across Accelerator Farms.

The role emphasizes leadership, onboarding, and cross-site coordination, with travel and weekend/holiday availability required to support farm performance and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of farm, livestock, poultry, or agricultural operations experience.
• Experience leading people in an agricultural, manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
• Located within commutable distance and able to work onsite 4-5 days per week.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to travel 25-35% for company events and meetings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to animal welfare and sustainable farming practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Farm Associates and Sr. Farm Associates.
• Establish safety, animal welfare, productivity, and performance expectations.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback for crew development.
• Coordinate onboarding and training for new farm team members.
• Coordinate labor and resources across assigned farm locations.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and drive implementation.
• Partner with compliance, maintenance, veterinary, and nutrition teams for performance and issue resolution.
• Manage farm supplies, ordering, and operational readiness.
• Take a proactive approach to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
